How would you characterize your music style?
We would have to call it a cross between classic hard rock and alternative modern. It definitely has an edge.
Who are you - what is your story?
Moment of Clarity formed through a music program at TJ’s Music in Fall River, MA in 2013. There have been a couple of member changes and an addition to the original lineup, but the core has remained the same. The only member of the band who did not come from the program is Marriah, the lead singer.
What do you think is the difference between good music and great music?
Good music is something you can bop your head to and sing along but great music has a certain kind of power and meaning associated with it. There is a feeling behind great music; an attitude associated with it and the history it has or will have. Great music shows how an artist has clearly taken their time on the writing and production.
What are the biggest challenges of being a young musician?
The biggest challenges are having promoters and venues taking us seriously because of our age and the challenge of acquiring a following due to the limited availability of venues for younger performers. Everyone just thinks we’re a bunch of kids trying to get gigs, but we are really a bunch of kids trying to blow your minds when we perform.
What does it mean to be chosen as a Pavoh Music Awards Finalist?
It is an honor to be chosen and recognized by such an esteemed community of musicians and entertainment professionals. It is confirmation that we are doing something right and that we need to continue to chase our dream. To have been chosen as one of the finalists from so many entries is truly an honor.
